“I am writing you to say thank you for providing Seal Once, it’s such a great product!
I have applied Seal Once in several scenarios and colors.
My first use of Seal Once was in an application to pressure treated decking that was over 15 years old.
First, the decking was cleaned with a solution of some chlorine and dawn, and then washed down with a hose. Next, a couple of coats of Seal-Once with a redwood tint were applied. The final results looked like nearly new. Certainly far exceeding what this decking looked like when either Thompsons or Behr was applied. This application and usage was applied approximately 3 years ago and is still standing up today.
My next usage of Seal Once was in the repainting of outside window trim and sills. Over the 20 plus years I have owned my home there was a frequent and constant scrapping, priming and repainting of the white window trim. Always within a year or so the paint would crack and peal and the process would need to be repeated. Three years ago I applied Seal Once in the process. First, the peeled area was scrapped and sanded. Next, the area was washed with a chlorine and dawn solution followed by some minor re-sanding. Two coats of clear Seal Once were applied allowing a day or so drying time between coats. After applying the Seal Once, the surface was then painted with a white primer, followed by a finish coat. After 3 years the white trim is holding up and looking just as fresh as if it were just painted. Very impressive and clearly saved both labor and aggravation. Thus, one chore that does not need to be repeated again anytime soon, if at all.
My final application of Seal-Once was to a new deck covered with red cedar decking. Two coats of Seal-Once with a light gray tint was applied two years ago. At this point the decking looks as fresh as the day the Seal-Once was applied. I am extremely impressed and satisfied. By way of contrast I have used several competitive products including both Thompsons and Behr and have been extremely disappointed. In both cases the other products barely lasted six months through the late spring and summer season. After the application of those products the surface always needed an extensive cleaning to remove mold and mildew followed by reapplication of one product or the other. Cleaning in both cases was quite time consuming and arduous.
Again, thank you for coming up with such a great product. A product that is green spec certified.
